Hi Josh, I know it must be hard to start-up a group. It takes a lot of committment and hard work. For some folks, it's a hobby and many don't have longevity when it comes to the actual committment of joining a team. For me, my team has become a second family to me. The group I'm with now (Gold Coast Paranormal Society) is fairly new. They started up in 2007. I became a member in 2008 around Christmas time. They'd started a Meet-Up Group on

. That's where I found them. I attended one of their meetings and the next thing I knew, I was a team member!
The meet-up site is pretty cool. It's a great way to meet like-minded people. It may be a good tool for you to use in order find potential team members and to start up your group in Ohio. We hosted Haunted Events where we took them for EVP sweeps in several local cemeteries, a Seminole Wars Battlefield Park, a supposedly haunted restaurant and also a private Ghost Tour of Ft. Lauderdale. It was a way to get our name out into the community and to meet some really nice folks. We also got in touch with the local libraries and hosted mini-seminars on the topic of Ghost Hunting. They were always a great success.
I would absolutely LOVE to have a chance to visit some of the more notorious haunts like Bob Mackeys, but it's hard to travel so far when you have a full-time job and bills that don't go away. I need to win that Florida Lotto!
My favorite investigation so far was the residential investigation we just came off of last weekend. I caught so much evidence via EVP/Ghostbox. I also had a personal experience where a glowing male face (it was as bright and white as a lightbulb) popped out in front of me. I had felt a wave of energy go up my back and as I turned around, that's what I saw! I hollered for a team member to come over with their EMF, but it was too late. The energy had dicipated and the face had vanished rather quickly. It only lasted maybe a couple of seconds before it had vanished. So there's really no "physical proof" of what I saw other than I KNOW WHAT I SAW. That's very frustrating, ya know? I tend to feel and hear and go by my instincts. They rarely let me down. Holding an EMF meter is good for those who want an exact reading, but I'm my own EMF. LOL! I do have one and use it for base readings and I do like the K2 meters with their pretty lights.
Seems that I've written a short novel here, but as you know when we get to talking about Ghostsnhaunts, we can go on for-ev-er!
