Thanks CC. I can't take the credit for the idea. I found the instructions on YouTube.
It was fairly simple to make. I'm experimenting with the different wavelengths to see what will work best with my camera. I was surprised to see how will the 940nM illumination was able to be seen by my camera. I was almost positive it would have been too high of a frequency.

Oh, I get it now. I wasn't quite sure what you meant by IR booster. That's really neat!

Yeah I have one, but mine is not battery operated. So yours is really handy!

Do you find that the different frequencies work better/worse with your camera?

I have a 100 pack of IR LED's I bought off of Ebay a few years ago, just never had the patience to put them together. I was playing with some designs at the time. I purchased them for my outdoor cameras.

Great idea there, I'll have to start trying them with the DiMage camera.

I recently made an IR booster for my camera. The camera's built in infrared light is pretty weak. I can see 7 or 8 feet. My booster allows me to peer deeper into the dark. It will illuminate a good size area. The I used 5 5mm IR LEDs at 940nM 100mW.
I plan on building two more using 10mm IR LEDs at 850nM 200mW. They should really light up a dark room.
