Education and follow up are both very good ideas, Steven. However, crazy is as crazy does, right? In the midst of trying to help someone a full psych profile isn't exactly a quick and easy thing to establish. I know nothing about this story other than what CC posted, but, does anyone know if this guy had a history of mental illness? I mean, ok, your home has been taken over by demons, fantastic. What do you do? Step 1, seek help. Great, did that, yep we got demons. Step 2, fight or flight? I think most rational people's fight response would be the clergy or other spiritual assistance in cleansing the home. Step 3, that didn't work, now what?! Again, rational response = get the heck out of dodge! Move to a new place a.s.a.p.!
I honestly don't see how a rational human being could go from confirmation of activity to "this place needs to burn". We could be missing a large part of the story, or just crucial small details. I just don't think that education and follow up are going to prevent another person who chooses the "burn it to the ground" option as the best solution to the problem without some serious psychological help.
Whatever the case in this particular situation, I certainly hope this man has no further negative supernatural issues, and also that he gets whatever help or assistance he might need.
