It's just that the discovery phase can be very time staking. Also requires some audio software and patience. I'm a computer nerd, and there is a strong move in the computer industry towards a distributive computing model. What that means is that in order to get the most out of your resources, you distribute the work across several computers.
Well, the same can hold true in any task. And that includes in searching for evidence. By spreading the search out between several people you gain:
1) The ability to go through a large amount of evidence rather quickly.
2) Redundancy in the form of what one person misses, another may catch.
3) Independent verification, you gain this by having several people go over the evidence. If several find the same results in the same location, that evidence is verified.
