Looks like a reptile or a monkey scull, good for scrying and asking questions, bad for anything else at best leave it be or better burn it. Shouldn't scare people around. But reptiles are good if left alone, provided they don't want something either. Nah I'd say keep it and see, ask it wishes, should work, hmm might be a bit over the head, so yeah just scrying. Should be good enough. And ask question, just don't empower too much they got tendencies of eating their victims.
