Looks like snow on the ground. Could be freezing evaporation from the ground. rising up. the heat of the light from your camera, body, breath, hair is enought to make it start melting, ergo it comes back down and towards you. Oh and a p.s. fish aquarimes are notorios culprets for the same effect.
