Hey there crystalcross,

I added this image for people to see the layout and for comparison with the other 'Landing' pictures in the Red-Eyes collection.
In this picture you can see the position of the door handle that you commented on in the 'Landing #5' picture and see that it is on the opposite side of the door (left) so not responsible for the anomoly on the righthand side of the door.

I'm a bit surprised that you're getting so much motion blur in this image. As you said, the lights are on so it should not be low on light. Also a bit of divergence on the door knob, may want to consider a different camera which has low light capabilities with a faster shutter speed.
