Well, upon further investigation, here's what I got.
I took the image and selected the right half (that was very white shaded, the part where the door jam is) and then darkened that and raised the contrast so I could see if the "Orb" pattern is in front of or behind the door jam.
This is what I found. See the patterns of the orb extend to the right. This was at first not visible in the brightness of the door jam. But when you darken it, it becomes obvious. So that tells me whatever the object is, is closer to the camera than the location of the door jam.
