Paranormal idol? Lol! I wouldn't inflict my singing on my worst enemy. I do think it could catch on though..

Thanks very much for the help. Just realised it doesn't do mp3 though. I have the 8000, not 8100. So I set that to HQ . What difference will that make with it being wma rather than mp3?

Here's what you'll want to do. In "Menu" mode (click menu button)

Go to "Mic Sense" and select "High"
Go to "Rec Mode" and select "MP3 192 kbps (Stereo)"
Go to "Low Cut Filter" and select "Off"
Go to "VCVA" and select "Off"

You can then save the scene.

All this can be found starting on page 11 of the manual.
For those who don't have the manual, I'll attach one here.

As for the singing, not much I can help with there. Although you're more than welcome to share that with us as well. Perhaps you can become the next Paranormal Idol! :)

Good luck!

Thankyou. I saw someone talking earlier about the mp3 but I didn't know I'd need to change the settings. Thanks for the advice because I haven't used one before. I haven't got around to reading the instructions yet, just tested it out with a verse of 'Morning has broken'. Reckon it might not be working properly though - surely my singing voice sounds way better than that. hehe ;)

Bursting to tell you that my next investigation is only 3 weeks away. A place I've never been to before built in the mid 1500s. Can't wait, and dying to try out my new recorder! :D
