My first experience with Mirror Scrying was in high school and it was incredible! It has become a stadard divination tool for me over the years. Agreed, it's not a good fit for everyone and a certain degree of gourage is required...especially for first timers. I would strongly suggest finding an experienced sidekick for your first "mirror trip." If it seems right for you, have a blast!!! BB

Im creeped out by mirrors as well. I didn't know that the subconscious is where we get our information from though.. I always thought that to be my imagination. I have been trying to talk with someone in my thoughts at night before I go to sleep but I always feel like I am "making up" what they are saying, because my mind is so quick... Is that possible?

Definitely not for the faint of heart and I'll try just about anything within reason once. One of my main phobias (besides mice and heights) is seeing myself in a mirror in the dark. Ever since elementary school and hearing stories about Bloody Mary I cannot bring myself to even look in the mirror at night. As a child, if I had to get up and use the bathroom in the middle of the night, I would get on the floor and crawl across so I didn't see myself in the mirror. I tried to get over it by doing it a few times, but when I see myself taking on a grotesque shape (who doesn't--hello, bedhead) I can't do it anymore.

I have never heard of this. I'm not a type of person to look in the mirror except to comb hair or brush teeth. I really don't like the complete dark unless I'm going to sleep. It does sound intresting but I'd rather have someone else around if I do do this. To answer your question yes I am chicken of the dark. =P

Scrying is an amazing ancient method of intuitively using simple reflective surfaces to see into the future, answer questions, solve problems and even find criminals or missing persons and objects.

Gazing into such objects as mirrors causes the subconscious to move into a channeling state. Visions seen while scrying are thought to be intuitive messages sent from the subconscious self to the conscious self, opening the psyche.

How to scry with a mirror:

1) Stand in a dark room. The bathroom is fine if you won't mind standing for 10 to 20 minutes at a time. If you prefer to sit and use a hand mirror, select a place where you aren't likely to be disturbed; for instance, your bedroom, an attic room or a secluded outside location.

2) Relax and prepare yourself through a few moments of meditation, saying a prayer for spiritual enlightenment or asking the Universe to offer you guidance. (Yes, these things do work!)

3) Hold a flashlight or a candle a few inches below your face and gaze into the mirror, trying to "unfocus" your eyes. Visualize a ray of light coming from you into the mirror.

4) Relaxed and with a free, open mind, watch as your face begins to change and become fluid in the mirror's reflection. You may see an unfamiliar face, facial hair growing, the image of an animal head (cow, dog, cat or others) initially. If you look to the side of the mirror, likely you will see your spirit guide. You may even see yourself in past lives as you develop your ability as a scryer.

5) Pay close attention to the insight offered by the images you see. If they begin to form more in a mental sense rather than visual, go with these mental images and allow them to share important knowledge with you. Once you've seen these images, they will stay with you and continue to grow and become more clear.

6) Ask questions in your mind and mentally open yourself to solutions given to you during scrying sessions as you become more skilled and relaxed with this method.

7) Keep a log of the images and scenes you see depicted in scrying sessions. In time, a full "story" will unfold. Logging your insights will enable you to periodically reflect back and realize the spiritual teachings or foretelling of future events involved from your scrying imagery.

Some tips on scrying

Try to scry only at night. Scrying is thought to be closely connected to the moon and its lunar phases. Be sure to keep all lights turned off and only see by the light of the flashlight or candle you are using.

If you are absolutely convinced that you have no intuitive or psychic ability at all, chances are that scrying will prove to you that most definitely you do have such ability after all!
