I think its time to formalize the policy on advertising on G&H Site.
We're a free site and its a public community of Paranormal Enthusiasts, Sensitives and a very broad variety of disciplines and beliefs. As such we do not charge for access to the system, and we do not have any fees for membership or any of the content related services we offer. We do this out of a genuine interest in paranormal and paranormal related subjects.
There are a great deal of expenses incurred in creating such a site, but we chose right from the beginning to not in any way forward those to our memberships. We have no plans now or in the foreseeable future to charge for this site.
We do however offer banner advertisement, web design, site building and hosting services. These services are commercial and are not free. Please contact us for any of these type of services. You may also find that under your "Profile" in the "My Banner Ads" section.
We do provide several avenues for getting your groups, agencies, and other commercial entities out there. These mostly involve the Haunts directory. This is a directory of Paranormal Agencies, Psychics & Mediums, as well as Haunted locations. You may freely add your names to that list if you are a commercial entity or even a non-commercial entity. We welcome it.
What we do not want to start seeing is advertising for services in the forums, chat, calendars or media repositories on the site. If you have a group meeting, Freely available TV show, or something scheduled for a particular date that is open to the public you're welcome to post it in the calendar. Just make sure its date specific, and focus on the date and event and not any services provided.
If you have a paranormal agency and have a website, you may post that under your profile and in the Haunts directory. Please do not ask our members to come to your site or follow your group in chat or in the forums. Most of our members know where to look for that information and if they do not and are looking for it, there are many helpful members here who are willing to point the way.
We're here to facilitate and help all paranormal groups, sensitives, and even just individuals with interest in it. We don't want to start a competitive trend, but rather we would love for all the various groups to unite their efforts and work together.
I'm not aiming this message at any group, person or individual. So please if you feel that is the intent, it is not. Its simply intended to curb a growing trend, and change the focus back to one of unity and working together.
