Who says you don't??? These photos are taken as the result of intuition; which everybody has. If photography is something you really want to do, then you can do it too.
The photograph itself is B & W infrared. It started off as a red photo and then was converted in Photoshop. The infrared enables the invisible light to be photographed; that's why the greens appear as white.
Just because you're from Ohio UT doesn't mean you can't do this [Lol, sorry I couldn't resist].
When you come to Florida, we ought to get together on a photography trip and I'll show you how to do it if you have the equipment. If you don't have all the equipment, we'll still go to some places and you can let your intuition guide you with what you do have. It's easier than you think.
