The "voices" of the Hermitage Burgondo was created by Grupo Alpha
Following our previous report, we said that we are still awaiting many surprises in Ochate and the Shrine of Our Lady of Burgond. We can assure you that they will not disappoint you, what happened to us both in this hidden enclave, and along the path that led us to this place, we were overwhelmed at every turn, feeling the anxiety and why not say even a little fear were taking over the environment is more than one occasion. We invite you to accompany us and enjoy with us this perplexing and extraordinary experience.
Hours are 2:15 am, we are nearing the end of our trip but we can not leave here without visiting the Chapel of Burgond a place, about which we hear all kinds of legends and rumors. The night, and rests on the moors and escort us throughout our journey. The peculiar "chapel" is located at the top of the hill, a few meters from Ochate. It is connected by a narrow paved path with enough inclination, along with the rugged terrain makes it a challenge to get there.
Just start the ascent, the shocks will not wait. We began to feel that we are not alone and that our steps are not the only sounds we perceive, we remain silent because none of us dare to talk about what we are hearing, walkie-talkies we are talking in our pockets! The wore off because at the moment we walked together and did not need to communicate, so we gave no credit to the event, what we heard were whispers in the form of interference such as when trying to tune a radio channel without being able to clearly hear what they say , we stopped, we found that indeed they are not connected, but do not lose your cool, we give a justification "logic" without success, we decided to turn them on and make sure that work perfectly well to rule out a bad battery connection, all is well, return to disconnect and amazed our way. A few meters ahead and ponder what just happened, there is again the same situation, the interference come to us mixed with our own voices, at times even seem to interact with us, we do not get nervous because we still have a long way and the explanation is difficult to assess, the only possibility that we may venture is the alleged presence of any antenna in the wilderness hidden by the darkness of the night and that is the cause of the interference ...
The trail is over and our eyes are raised to view the ruins of the Chapel of Our Lady of Burgond, lying wounded on the plateau and by neglect, we note with sadness as vandalism and waste that has accumulated inside have finally clear historic footprint of this place.
Before continuing with our work is to know just the annals of this shrine:
The data Burgond Hermitage Diocese of Vitoria as the seventeenth century, but there appear to previous documents place it in the year 1556 and others described from time immemorial, actually little is known and that involves a mysterious and walls not reveal any information because of its poor condition.
Devotion to the Virgin of Burgondes, now defunct, was such that many miracles attributed to him, and prayers were constant arrivals even from other provinces. It is significant to note the reaction of the octogenarian D. Peter Ogueta, person closely linked to Burgond and last ruler of his fraternity, who when asked about the alleged strange phenomena occurred in Ochate no doubt about its origin and states categorically that it is "miracles of the Virgin of Burgond".
On August 15, feast of Our Lady of the Assumption, the inhabitants of San Vicentejo, along with those of Aguillo, Ajarte, Uzquiano ImÃruri and even today are raised on pilgrimage to the chapel, waiting with excitement when kissing a medallion appeared as a relic in 1947 after a lightning strike through the thick walls of the temple and only displays once a year.
These five nations formed a brotherhood that was known as "The Litany". This sanctuary was not of Ochate although it was so close, but the towns above mentioned. Already in the twentieth century, specifically the June 28, 1983, the Hermitage of Burgond suffers a terrible fire, apparently caused, that almost completely destroyed. (The newspaper ABC published the unfortunate event)
